Nori chicken Nori chicken! Their nori chicken is the best.
I had Bento to go and portions are generous. Price is good too.
The place is down to earth Gardena style restaurant for locals.
I wish they do a little upgrade with the bathroom but it's ok. It is not dirty it is just old. -

I pass by this place many times for two years. I finally went there one day after church with my son. The place looks like a prior Sizzler or Denny's restaurant. It has numerous Hawaiian theme posters, photos, t-shirts in frame. Lots of customers. They had a singer singing Hawaiian songs. Since it was my first time. I don't really know what to expect. The menu does not have pictures. My son ordered kids meal of hot dog and rice. It came with two sliced hot dog. Very thin. He like it.
I ordered their lunch special with two items. Nori (thin seaweed) wrapped chicken and short ribs with rice.
The short rib could have been cooked for a little longer. Because the meat was not very tender. Considering most of the people there are senior citizens. The cook should do that. The chicken came as fried chicken, look like tiny drumsticks or wings (deboned). That was good, but some were over fried. The rice is also a little under cooked. Sort of hard and dry.
Don't expect this place to have quick service. You are on island time, bruh! The staffs are friendly. They were actually working their butts off due to so many people there. I might go back again to try different things. -

I had the chicken lau lau which has butterfish, I expected a small piece but I carefully ate it looking for the fish. It was one tiny piece about a 1/4 inch. Not to mention the food was room temperature. Even the miso soup was luke warm.
The service is attentive and the food is tasty but restaurants should never serve hot food that's not even warm.
I will pick up food to go and nuke it at home because their nori wrapped chicken n sweet n sour ribs are ono -

Stay away from the beef curry. There were only 3 beef chunks and 2 of them were just fat and gristle, which is sad because that was pretty much the only meat in the dish. Even the third piece was very tough.

Was in town for two nights with a party of 4. Hit up Bob's right before closing time the first night. Although there were only a few items left in the case since they were in the process of closing, the gentleman behind the counter and separate register were very accommodating to us and our questions. I ended up getting 4 assorted mochi donuts chewier than a regular donut and just as yummy. The next morning we came in for breakfast. 2 of us had the loco-moco and 2 had the Big Hawaiian Breakfast. I tried both and the servings were ample for 1 person. Both were 5 stars for flavor. Server was attentive, but dropped the ball a bit on drink refills. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu!
